2023 Hajj: Kwara to fly first pilgrim batch May 26

The first group of prospective pilgrims from the state, according to the Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, will be airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 26.
Vanguard reported that the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdukadri, made this announcement during the enlightenment session for prospective pilgrims held at Gerewu in Adewole Area, Ilorin.
The executive scribe further stated that the pilgrims would receive their immunizations on May 23 as well s their bags and uniforms which would be distributed on May 24.
He said, “We enjoin you to avoid fighting with anyone, to avoid indecent dresses, and to avoid using abusive language in the holy country.”
Additionally, Dr. Abdulkadir Sambaki reminded prospective pilgrims to observe the law and keep Allah in mind at all times while in Nigeria and the holy region.
There is no tolerance for disobedience for any intended pilgrims, he stated, therefore they should adhere to Saudi Arabian and Nigerian laws.
3,740 pilgrims from the state, according to him, would perform the Hajj this year.
The officer in charge of the state National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Ilorin airport, Hajia Abibat Babaita, also advised them against traveling to Saudi Arabia carrying illegal substances.
She pleaded with them to refrain from traveling to Saudi Arabia with illegal substances like cocaine, lexotan, and tramadol, among others.
Babaita also advised anyone who takes prescribed medication and is planning to embark on the pilgrimage, to bring a doctor’s note and not to travel with a commercial supply.
