Delta monarch urges gov-elect to run all-inclusive govt

The traditional rulers under the aegis of Delta North Traditional Rulers Forum have called on the governor-elect and Speaker of the State Assembly, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori to run all-inclusive govt and asked the losers to accept defeat in good faith in the spirit of sportsmanship.

The monarchs disclosed that the victory was not only well deserved given the political events that occurred during the general elections and the keen nature of the electoral contest but also reflect the aspirations of the people.

In a 5-point communique read by its Chairman and Obi of Owa, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, at the end of their meeting in Owa Oyibu Ika northeast, the royal fathers congratulated the governor-elect and his deputy Monday Onyeme on their victory.

They commended the people of Delta north for their support when it mattered most during the elections arguing that the victory of Honourable Oborewori at the polls was a reflection of the people wishes and love for the Okowa administration which was given added impetus by the people of the state.

They also expressed satisfaction with the outstanding performance of outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Okowa governance noting hat he had been prepared to succeed governor-elect to adequately step into his shoes for progress of Delta State and Deltans in particular.

While expressing optimism in the judiciary, the Monarchs also prayed that justice should prevail as Atiku and Okowa seek redress in court over the just concluded presidential election in the country, adding, they have faith in the justice system of the country because the votes of the majority of Nigerians should be allowed to count.
