Gunmen abduct Taraba monarch's wives, son

 

 

Gunmen have reportedly abducted two wives and son of the Chief of Sarkin Kudu in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, HRH Dan-Salama Adamu on Friday night.

According to family sources the gunmen stormed the resident of the traditional ruler on Friday night in Serkin Kudu, when he was not around.

Based on the information from the sources, the Punch reported that the armed men in their numbers shot continuously before moving the victims away to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, the armed men are yet to reach out to any one regarding the victims.

According to one of the family members who spoke to The Punch, “The gunmen are yet to establish contact with anybody. We pray for the safety of the victims. For now, they have not contacted us so we can’t talk about how much they are demanding for ransom.

“None of the victim’s phone number is going through, but we are trusting God for their safety.”

It was reported that this incident comes barely three weeks after some gunmen kidnapped two wives and five children of the Chief of Mutum-Biyu, and were later murdered in the state.

The Taraba state Police Public Relations Officer DSP Usman Abdullahi confirmed the incident and said, “some suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident.”

According to Abdullahi, the arrested suspects are giving  relevant information to the police.

He added that they are putting efforts to rescue the abducted victims and find the remaining suspects.
