The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kaduna State Chapter, has stated that ‘the killers of the Southern Kaduna people have not yet been neutralized as claimed’.

According to Daily Post, the body stated this while reacting to the death of over 28 innocent defenceless people of the Mallagum community in the Kagoro area in Kaura Local Government Area who were brutally slaughtered on Sunday night.

The PUNCH had reported that terrorists on Sunday night reportedly killed over 28 people in separate attacks in Malagum 1 and Sokwong communities of Kagoro Chiefdom in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement issued by the state chairman of CAN in the State, Rev. John Hayab, the body condemned the killings while also calling on the government to ensure the safety of its citizens.

“This massacre has further proven that the killers of the Southern Kaduna people have not yet been neutralized as claimed.” he said.

He urged the federal government and the security agencies to prevent the killers from escaping, declaring that regardless of who was involved, those responsible for the murders must be found, apprehended, and prosecuted.

“These renewed killings may be a strategy to scare the people from exercising their rights and to further increase fear and impoverish them.” he added.
