Osun community gets first monarch in four years

 

Oil and gas magnate Prince Ademola Oluponle had emerged the new monarch of Ire community in Boripe local government in Osun State.

His emergence puts an end to the wait of the community to have a traditional ruler after four years.

According to The Nation, the 49-year-old monarch was elected from Oyekun ruling house in Iree by Warrant Cheifs at the selection process supervised by the official of the Boripe North Local Council Development Authority Headquarters, Iree.

He was chosen before the other 11 candidates from the Oyekun, Olubonku, and Oyegbite reigning houses who had expressed interest in running.

According to the chairman of Boripe North LCDA, Bamigbegbin Oladejo, Prince Oluponle emerged during the procedure that was approved by the State Government at the council following the court ruling by Justice Jide Falola that permits the continuation of the process.
