Pastor Oritsejafor mourns Delta monarch Ohworode
The former National President of the Christian Association of Nigerian, Pastor Ayodele Joseph Oritsejafor has commiserated the family of the late Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM. Ovie Richard Layeguen Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro I.
Pastor Oritsejafor conveyed his condolence message to the children, immediate family and the Olomu traditional Council of Chiefs over the departure of their father and King.
Accompanied by members of the International Gospel Centre to the Palace of the Ohworode in Ogoni-Olomu Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, the cleric eulogized the late monarch.
Pastor Oritsejafor said, “Until almost like one two weeks before he passed away, I was still receiving every Sunday, what he sent to me. Text messages from him every Sunday. It was still coming to me and that meant a lot to me.
“Am a pastor but when you have your father sending you something like that, it has a lot of value and I valued it. It was important.”
While expressing satisfaction with the longevity of the monarch, the clergyman said there are few people who lived up to 100 years of age. “Very few. It’s not easy”.
He stressed that he was so close to the departed Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom and the words the monarch gave him in private guided him.
Oritsejafor said God Almighty recommended a 120years for man to live on earth, noting that “The world we live in is stressful. The confusion, the diet, the pollution. When you take so many things into account.”
The man of God stated further that it is a joyful thing to be close to a man who crossed 100 years, saying that you will be a fool not to be close to such a person.
“Everything you value will add value to your life. Anything you want, you go close to it. Anything you admire, you can get. Anything you abuse will run away from you. Anything you reduce will reduce you. So, with all my heart, I followed him.
“Sometimes, he’s going to certain places, he will inform me and he will be surprised that I will just show up and he will say, I wasn’t thinking you will come here. I laughed. He didn’t know that for me, the Bible say, honour your father and mother so that your days will be long.
