Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, paid a visit to the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, in commemoration of the first year anniversary of the monarch.

While the details of the visit were not made known to the public, however pictures and video clips of Obi’s remarks at the Olu of Warri’s palace during the Friday evening’s visit have surfaced.

Reacting after the visit, Obi tweeted, “It was a great honour to visit the Palace of the Olu of Warri, where I met with His Imperial Majesty and his Family. I greatly appreciated and cherished the moments of conviviality and hospitality.”

Activities marking the Olu of Warri’s anniversary celebration continue this Saturday at Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri, with cultural display and homage paid by Itsekiri sons and daughters home and abroad.

The week-long programme is expected to be rounded off on Sunday with a thanksgiving service at the Palace Church in Warri.
