The Vatican has shared photos of the late Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, lying in his home chapel.
The pope died on Saturday aged 95.
Religion Nigeria reported that the late Pope’s passing on Saturday came after Pope Francis requested prayers for him, stating that he was “extremely unwell.”
The Pope emeritus’ body will be laid to rest at the ‘Mater Ecclesiae’ convent, where he had been living before death, according to the Vatican.
However, beginning Monday at 9 a.m., the body of Pope Emeritus will lay in state in St. Peter’s Basilica for public observation until Thursday morning.
