Tinubu’ll tackle insecurity – Niger cleric

The Anglican Communion of Nigeria, Kutigi Diocese in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, has expressed optimism that the incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will get to the root of banditry and militia groups that laid siege to the country and put an end to it.

The Bishop of Kutigi Diocese, Rt Rev. Jeremiah Ndana Kolo, made this disclosure while delivering his address of Bishop charge on the third day of yearly Synod held at St Peter’s Anglican Church Gbangbagi in the state, with the theme, ‘The Confidence of Faith and Submission’.

Kolo, while lamenting the spate of kidnappings for ransom, reckless killings and ransacking of villages and towns particularly in Niger State, urged Tinubu to make a difference by ensuring all these evils become things of the past

“It has become a daily affair without proactive measures to checkmate the menace. It is the primary responsibilities of the government at all levels to get to the root cause of banditry, and militia groups in the country with a view to punish the perpetrators. We believe Tinubu has all it takes to take the country to it’s highest level to secure the lives and properties of the citizens,” he insisted.

On the increase in petrol pump price of N300 which has consequently increased the sufferings of the masses, the cleric observed that the recent cashless policy was ill motivated and adversely affected the economy, calling on government to address the issue
