Today marks the 81st birthday of the highly esteemed General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

Daddy G.O., as he is affectionately known, is one of the most revered and prominent pastors in the world, positively impacting people for decades.

Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a Nigerian pastor and the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, one of the largest Pentecostal churches in the world.

He was born on March 2, 1942, in Ifewara, Osun State, Nigeria.

Adeboye received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a master’s degree in Hydrodynamics and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics both from the University of Lagos.

He became the General Overseer of RCCG in 1981, succeeding its founder, Reverend Josiah Akindayomi.

Under Adeboye’s leadership, RCCG has experienced significant growth, with churches in over 190 countries around the world.

Adeboye is also known for his evangelistic activities and has been involved in numerous initiatives to spread the gospel both within Nigeria and internationally.

In addition to his pastoral work, Adeboye is a prolific author, with more than 60 books to his name.

He is known for his humility and approachability, and many members of RCCG see him as a father figure.

Adeboye has received numerous honors and awards for his contributions to Christianity, including the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 2008 and the National Productivity Order of Merit in 2011.

He is married to Foluke Adeboye, and the couple has four children, all of whom are involved in RCCG.
