Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has urged all district heads in the area council to counsel their youths to maintain a peaceful electoral process both during and after the general election.

According to Leadership, he made this request to ensure a peaceful election free of violence in the council during an emergency meeting with the traditional leaders in all communities in AMAC.

He urged the traditional leaders to work with the council, the appropriate law enforcement authorities, and all arms of government to guarantee a peaceful election and stay away from any actions that would damage their reputations and result in legal repercussions.

Maikalangu advised the traditional chiefs to make sure that peace always reigns in their respective communities so that development can flourish in the council. He claimed that each community’s ability to prosper depends on how peaceful it is.

The district chief of Jikwoyi, Nicodemus Machin, praised the chairman for his friendly relationship with the traditional leaders and stated that this is an indication of effective leadership that will promote positive relationships between the communities and the council.
