Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has presented 300 Saudi Riyals to each of the 3,000 Bauchi pilgrims, performing Hajj in the holy land of Mecca.

Disclosing a statement issued in Bauchi on Friday, the Special Adviser to the governor, on Media and Publicity, Mukthar Gidado, revealed that the donation was made during Governor Muhammed’s visit to Bauchi camp in the holy land, to interact with the pilgrims.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Gidado said the gesture, which is equivalent to N75,000, was given by the governor, to complement the expenses incurred by the pilgrims during their stay in the holy land.

The Media Aide stated that the governor, during his visit to the pilgrims’ tent in Muna, appreciated them for their good conduct during the ongoing Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.

“Mohammed commended them for respecting the authorities, both in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“He assured that his administration would not relent in supporting the state pilgrims’ welfare board to the best services to pilgrims,” he said.

The governor’s Aide however gave assurance that the state government would partner with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, to address some of the challenges experienced by the state’s Hajj commission in the Holy land land.

He added that the governor expressed his gratitude to the pilgrims for their prayers for the success of his administration, while also urging them to sustain the level of prayers and support towards him.
