Buhari hails Ogun monarch at 89
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has sent his congratulatoty message to the Awùjalẹ̀ of Ijebuland, Ogun State, Ọba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna, on his 89th birthday, saying his commitment to the welfares of his subjects and the country at large could not be ignored.
Buhari’s message was conveyed in a statement on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
President Buhari eulogized the qualities of the Ijebu traditional ruler, noting that his dedication and warmth to friends are incomparable.
Buhari said, “Your dedication to the welfare of your subjects and our country and its people is highly appreciated. Your vision, warmth and commitment to your friends are incomparable. I’m very proud of my relationship with Your Majesty. May you continue to lead a long and healthy life”.
While praying to Allah to give the Awujale the strength and health to accomplish his goals, Buhari implored the monarch to continue making his numerous efforts for the development of Nigeria.
