Weeks after the tragic slaughter of about 40 worshippers by terrorists at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, a mass burial was held for the victims on Friday.
Religion Nigeria reported that the Catholics were killed during service on Sunday, June 5, 2022, leaving many others injured.
This publication reported that the mass funeral, which started around 9am at Otapete Emure Road, Ondo, had in attendance many bishops from the South-West zone, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and other top political officials were also in attendance.
However, during the mass burial, 21 coffins were brought to the church for the grief-soaked funeral service which was attended by security operatives including military personnel, men of the Nigeria Police Force, and Amotekun operatives.
