How I was kidnapped on my farm – Ondo Chief Imam

The Chief Imam of Uso in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade has recounted his ordeal in the hands of his abductors.

Religion Nigeria had published that the 67-year-old Islamic Cleric was reportedly abducted from his farm on Saturday at Asolo Camp in the Southwestern state.

Recounting his experience he said he was accosted by two gunmen on his farm at about 12pm on Saturday. “I went to farm on Saturday to look for pineapple I was about putting the pineapple inside my car when two people accosted me with a gun at exactly 12pm.

“There was nothing I could do, they asked me to put my hands behind me, they asked me about those we came to the farm together. They pushed me inside the bush, while we were going I realised they had slept on my farm, probably monitoring my movement.

“I saw their properties in my farm, sleeping net among others. I was taken farther inside the bush. My hands and feets were tied to a tree, I was tortured, there was no food, I was flogged.

According to him he was released on Sunday at about 6:30pm. “They had all information about me, I bless God I regained my freedom around 6:30pm.

The cleric was said to have paid 2million naira for his release.
