Oba of Lagos clocks 19 years on the throne

The Oba of Lagos, His Royal Highness, Ridware Akiolu, on Wednesday, clocked 19 years on the throne as a first-class monarch of the state.

Oba Akiolu was celebrated by the Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, Honourable Tijani Olusi on his 19th coronation.

Olusi’s statement was issued on behalf of the Legislative Arm, Management Staff and the people of Lagos Island Local Government Area.

It read partly, “Just like yesterday, you mounted the throne of your father in ebullience, colour ambience, dignity and a clear desire to make Lagos a home for all while still upholding the tenets of our culture and traditions”.

Religion Nigeria recalled that the traditional leader assumed rulership on May 23, 2003, as the 21st Oba of Lagos and has held the traditional stool since then.
