Pray over food crisis - Akwa Ibom cleric urges Christians

An Akwa Ibom-based televangelist and General Overseer of the Frontline Missionary Church in Uyo, Apostle Unyime Nkanta, has called for a prayer summit to resolve the food crisis in the nation.

The cleric said this on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen, in Uyo, the state capital, according to The PUNCH.

Apostle Nkanta also tasked the government to provide an enabling environment for farmers to abate the ailing economy and avert the looming food crisis in the country.

He said the call was necessary as the lord told him to remind Nigeria leaders of the late Prophet TB Joshua’s prophesies concerning the economic crisis that would ravage the world, including Nigeria.

Nkanta task Christain faithful to set aside a day in prayer, seeking God’s intervention in curbing the economic challenges berating the nation.

The late Pentecostal prophet, TB Joshua before his death, had in separate times prophesied on December 28, 2008; October 16, 2011; and December 29, 2013, that there will be a global economic crisis and Nigeria will also be hit.

Among others, TB Joshua in the prophecy said there would economic crisis which will cause naira devaluation and oil prices would drop.

Urging the Nigerians and believers not to discard the prophecies, Nkanta also tasks the government to “think towards the diversification of the nation’s economy by initiating programmes in the areas of agriculture that would encourage citizen’s participation in active farming, so as to deal with the current food crisis threatening the country”.

He added,” The only way to tackle the food crisis currently enveloping the nation is for government to provide the enabling environment devoid of security disturbances as well as the provision of modern farming and agricultural incentives to Nigerians who desire to go back to farming in their various localities.”
