The Federal Road Safety Corps has revealed that three palace servants of the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar El-kanemi, were killed in a road accident along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road.
Six individuals were engaged in the accident that happened on Monday, but only three were rescued and taken to a local hospital, according to the state Corps Commander, Utten Iki Boyi, who spoke to reporters in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
According to him, the car overturned and caught fire around the Benisheik neighborhood.
“Immediately we got the report, our team rushed to the scene of the incident. Three people were burnt beyond recognition. However, three others were rescued and taken to Benishiek General Hospital for treatment.
“I can confirm to you that unfortunately, the three lost their lives,” he said.
Three passengers survived with injuries, and it was learned that the three burn victims were Shehu of Borno employees.
