Sultan, Atiku in Jigawa for late Emir of Dutse’s burial

 

 

The late Emir of Dutse, Nuhu Muhammadu-Sanusi, was on Wednesday buried in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

The funeral ceremony was attended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party Atiku Abubakar, and the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Kashim Shettima.

Following a funeral prayer led by Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Abubakar Sani, at the Eid prayer site, the service was concluded at Kargo Public Cemetery.

Religion Nigeria on Tuesday reported that the emir died at the age of 78 in Abuja Hospital after brief illness.

He took the throne in place of his deceased father, Muhammadu Sanusi Dan Bello, who ruled from 1983 until 1995.
