The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has been conferred his eighth doctorate degree.
Adeboye received the honorary degree on Thursday night during the fourth day of the church’s 2022 Holy Ghost Congress tagged Double Portion.
The degree was conferred on Adeboye by the President of Oral Robert University in Tulsa Oklahoma, US, at the Redemption Camp ground in Ogun State.
Adeboye told his congregation how he had rejected other honorary degrees from some unnamed institutions having been previously conferred seven doctorates.
He also added that he tried to do the same with Oral Robert University after informing the US varsity that he couldn’t be in the country to receive the honour but the varsity’s president decided to come to Nigeria to present him with the doctorate.
Reacting, Adeboye said, “I want to thank @oralrobertsu for this honour and will like the Institution to know that it has been received with all our hearts and we are extremely grateful. I made a little research and found that the number of people with more than three honorary degrees in the world are very few and I already got seven and I felt it was more than enough. But when I heard @oralrobertsu : The greatest and best Pentecostal University in the World, was going to give me an offer, I tried to dodge by saying I could not come but the President decided to come by himself.
