Atiku tasks new CAN president on interfaith relations

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has charged the new President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Most Rev. Daniel Chukwudumebi Okoh, to foster solid inter-religious relations in Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message released on his verified Facebook page on Friday, Atiku also assured the new CAN president of total support for the promotion of peace and unity in Nigeria.

Atiku said, “I wish to congratulate Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church (Odozi-Obodo), on his election as President of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

“Your election at our nation’s crossroads presents you with a unique opportunity of forging interfaith relations.

“Be assured of my hand of fellowship in the promotion of much-needed unity to spur socio-economic and political progress in our country.”

Religion Nigeria reported that Most Rev. Okoh succeeded Dr. Samson Ayokunle who officially bowed out following the end of his tenure.
